Sommerberg
The Sommerberg hotel terrace overlooking Bad Wildbad 300m below.
The Sommerberg hotel was once a thriving 4-star hotel with ballrooms, restaurants and a large purpose built indoor swimming pool. In the late 1990's due to financial difficulties it was semi-abandoned. In 2003 the local Blezinger family bought it with a view to creating a family hotel. Since then the restaurant and panorama terrace have been open but new building regulations have prevented refurbishment of the hotel complex. The original Sommerberg hotel built of wood in 1909 burnt down in the 1960's. The present hotel, which replaced the original hotel, has many advanced features including a curved facade and corridors. The hotel rooms have balconies with views of the Enztal and there is an impressive panorama of the Enz Valley from the cantilevered restaurant terrace.

It is a mammoth task to bring the hotel back to life but work is on going and there are plans to open an exhibition room beneath the restaurant soon where pottery and artwork can be viewed.
